Hi! I'm Erika (she | her), and I've been a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) since 2006. I've worked in a variety of settings, including:
Non-profit organizations
In-home and school-linked mental health services
Clinics specializing in children, including those on the autism spectrum and with ADHD
Clinics for those living with chronic pain and trauma
I've learned that we have great depths of resilience when we have the tools and support to move forward.
I take an eclectic approach to therapy, with a focus on putting your needs first. I focus primarily on strategies that have been proven effective, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My training in trauma treatment, as well as my work in yoga and meditation as an RYT-500, has taught me that the mind and body are difficult to treat separately, as they tend to be so intrinsically interwoven. I work with you to find ways to reconnect with your body and your inner thoughts to build a pathway to resilience.
For fellow therapists and others working in the helping professions, I genuinely enjoy providing consultation and support to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue. Supporting others means getting yourself some support too.
When I'm not working, I'm most likely exploring with my three kids, husband, and our "adventure dog" Mia. Or doing laundry....there's always so much laundry.
